To high tech high student,
Hi, my name is Katie. I am 14 years old, 15 on the 30th of June. I live in south-east London in barking town centre. I live at home with my mum and dad and two sisters Natalie who is 18 and about to leave for university and charlotte who is 16 and is in the year above me in my school and doing her g.c.s.e’s and going to collage next year.
I go to barking abbey secondary school, and I am in year 10. At school the subjects I took are sociology, textiles, drama, geography, religious education, physical education, biology, maths, English, I.T and citizenship. I enjoy drama textiles and sociology at school. Last year at barking abbey there was 68% a* - c grades for students. At barking abbey there is a specialist’s sports centre which has a gym in it and runs many clubs that is open to the public after school.
In my spare time I enjoy going out with my friends. I enjoy going to London to go shopping down Oxford Street or to Covent Garden or lesticure square in London’s centre, with my friends. I also enjoy going bowling and pictures or just hanging around with my mates. I also enjoy watching films and listening to music or chatting to my mates on msn.
In barking where I live there is a wide range of many different ethnicities. Just like my school is a very multicultural school with students from many different ethnic backgrounds.
In 2012, the Olympics are coming to London and I am quite exited about it as it would be easy for me to go and watch some of the games. Having the Olympics in London would make to country better as it would have better sports facilities from after the Olympic Games.
In barking I don’t think a lot of crime goes on. I think that the majority of crime that goes on in barking is car crime or muggings.
So what do you like doing in your spare time?
What subjects did you take at school?
Who do you live with?
Do you have any brothers or sisters?
Do you think that a lot of crime happens in your area?
Is there a wide range of ethnicities in your area?
What is your area like?
Bye for now.
Katie

Hi Katie! :D
My name is Xochitl Lopez and I am 17 years old but I'm turning 18 on February 4. :] What I do on my spare time is listen to music, dance, hang out with my friends, party!:], watch t.v., chat on msn, talk on the phone, shopping, I like doing many things. I also like playing sports especially soccer. I love soccer! I live with my mom and dad and 1 little brother who is 8, 2 sisters (12 and 16). I love them very much <3 My subjects in school right now are Humanities/English, Math 3,and Biology. At my school we start at 8:15 A.M and end at 3:16 P.M. My school is different from all the other schools in San Diego, California. In my school we use laptops instead of books and we travel around the world. I have traveled to China and Yucatan, Mexico. :] I love to travel and would like to go to England some day. Well in the area that I live in, many crimes happen. Some crimes are people doing drugs, stealing cars, vandalizing (there is a lot of graffiti), and raping people. It is scary! But I am happy that nothing bad has happened to my family. The ethnicity in my area is mostly Mexicans. I am Mexican and there is also African people. I live in an area called Barrio Logan and its a small place with a lot of people. I have lived here for my whole life and would like to stay here forever. Oh and I'm a junior at my school jaja :]Well hope to get to know you better! Tell all your mates I say hi! Bye :D

Hey Katie,
My name is Haidee i just turned 16 years old. I live with my family, which is my mom, dad, and sister. I have one brother (who moved out already) and one sister, both older than me; which makes me the youngest.
There is a lot of crime in my neighborhood, the usual drug dealing, vandalism, etc... but most people around my area are Mexicans and african-americans. At school i take math, humanities, biology, and internship, the usual stuff. And during my spare time I am usually on the computer, hanging out with friends, or sports usually its swimming.
Well i dont know wat else to say so bye...

hi hadiee,
im katie, nice to meet you. i am also the youngest in my family.
i wouldnt say that their is that mush crime in my area mostly vandalism and drug dealing but apart from that not alot. but in my area their is a wid reange of different ethnicities.
i just have a couple of questions:
What is internship??? dont you get to take subjects like art, textiles, media or drama?? have you traveled anywhere?? what year are you in???
talk to you later
katie :)
hey katie, nice talking to u again.
well im in eleventh grade, also known as being a junior. And no there are not a lot of clubs we can take at our school. since its a charter school we dont have as much clubs or sports as normal schools, although i wish we would. we have art as a requirement and multimedia, which is the class the gets to make the school news show. There are small groups of sowing and dancing, but thatz about it, but i really wish we had drama, i was thinking of talkin to our vice principal to start a drama club.
well internship is kind of a class where we get to go to the real world and work with someone in a career that we are interested. I got to work at a law office.
and yes, luckily, i have traveled to different places. i usually travel to mexico city a lot, because most of my family lives there. and ive also been able to go to different parts of the U.S. last year i was able to travel to China, and this year i went to ireland, wales, and london.
i got a questions for u. in what part do u live? have u ever traveled anywhere?
talk to u later
-haidee

-haidee

LAW AND ORDER BELFAST- STYLE! AS TWO MAN ARE FORCED ON A 'WALK OF SHAME'
The problem with this is that various volunteer groups around the UK, maninly Ireland are forcing alledged criminals to tkae what they call the '; walk of shame' down thier local streets wearing signs and boards of their alledged crimes for everyone to see.
Their isnt anything positive about this routine, it does not solve the problem and causes unnecassary violence and humiliation. Ane eye witness to the events sait " Im disgusted these people have no right to do this sort of thing".
My proposals is that i belive the goverment should make som sort of law or human right to stop further events like this fgrom tkaing place in the future
Hi once again,
yes i can travel to europe, its just that its so far away, from over here, and its a lot of money. especially because of the difference of the dollar and euro and pound. What is corfu?
and yes there are small clubs. they have the engineering, robotics, sowing, art, and a few more.
