To high tech high student,
Hi, my name is Katie. I am 14 years old, 15 on the 30th of June. I live in south-east London in barking town centre. I live at home with my mum and dad and two sisters Natalie who is 18 and about to leave for university and charlotte who is 16 and is in the year above me in my school and doing her g.c.s.e’s and going to collage next year.
I go to barking abbey secondary school, and I am in year 10. At school the subjects I took are sociology, textiles, drama, geography, religious education, physical education, biology, maths, English, I.T and citizenship. I enjoy drama textiles and sociology at school. Last year at barking abbey there was 68% a* - c grades for students. At barking abbey there is a specialist’s sports centre which has a gym in it and runs many clubs that is open to the public after school.
In my spare time I enjoy going out with my friends. I enjoy going to London to go shopping down Oxford Street or to Covent Garden or lesticure square in London’s centre, with my friends. I also enjoy going bowling and pictures or just hanging around with my mates. I also enjoy watching films and listening to music or chatting to my mates on msn.
In barking where I live there is a wide range of many different ethnicities. Just like my school is a very multicultural school with students from many different ethnic backgrounds.
In 2012, the Olympics are coming to London and I am quite exited about it as it would be easy for me to go and watch some of the games. Having the Olympics in London would make to country better as it would have better sports facilities from after the Olympic Games.
In barking I don’t think a lot of crime goes on. I think that the majority of crime that goes on in barking is car crime or muggings.
So what do you like doing in your spare time?
What subjects did you take at school?
Who do you live with?
Do you have any brothers or sisters?
Do you think that a lot of crime happens in your area?
Is there a wide range of ethnicities in your area?
What is your area like?
Bye for now.
Katie
