HEADLINE: "Secrate Crimes" push total over 4m a year"June 26, 2007"
Problems: The way crime is reported doesn't include all crimes
Anything positive about this problem: No
How does it make me feel: Like the government is trying to cover up some crimes
Solutions:
School:
Our school could encourage children to report crimes to the police each time they happen. We can also write letters to the council explaining the problem, to try and get it resolved.
Government
The government should take of the survey cap as to this day a "victim targeted by an offender is limited to five incidents a year. So basically if you are targeted a sixth time, your case will not be included in the survey.
Individual
We ourselves can contact the government explaining that these surveys do not give accurate results and hope for a change in the process.
What people think about 'Targetting inner - City gangs'
• Young black men (no mention of black women) involved in inner-city gangs are to have military figures as role models. (Black army officers recruited to help stop gang violence, August 20).
• This draw the attention to the need for positive role models for young people from the black community.
• There are no positive aspects to this letter in the newspaper.
• This letter makes me feel scared because crime is getting worse everywhere and so many people are trying to solve these issues and make a way in which they can stop all of this.
Solution: “We are promoting a scheme to get black and Asian working scientists and engineers to give a day a year as ambassadors in secondary schools." The aim is to inspire students to take higher education routes which will open up careers in science and engineering.
Domestic Abuse “Still Unreported”
Fact: Tens of thousands of case of domestic abuse still go unreported because victims do not realise that violence against them is crime.
Fact: “Unspoken epidemic” of abuse, which costs the NHS and Social Services an estimated £3 billion a year.
Problem: Domestic abuse has been reported to affect more than 350,000 people in England and Wales, with 45,000 incidents in Scotland one year and 8,000 in Ulster.
It is thought 750,000 children a year witness abuse.
Proposed Solution: The report called for doctors to receive better training so they can identify people at risk and for education programme on domestic abuse to be taught in schools.

Jailing prostitues halps no one!
People are trying to help prostitutes rather then put them down.
In 1982 Criminal Justice Acyt stated that courts could no longer impose jail sentencing for soliciting.
i believe we should understand these people before we dismiss their situations although many are drug addicts their situation is unjust and i feel preventable if we just gave them the halp and supposrt they need.
solutions: we could help these people by first and for most getting them off the streets and getting them the help they need. Jail won't help them because as soon as they get out they will need an even bigger fix than when they went. to me they just need someone to show they care and not just about how they look or what they can offer but about them as a person.

Are middle classes the biggest crooks?
People from middle class jobs are the majority commiters of crime and the biggest crooks. the are no positive aspects to this article.
Facts:- 65% of people have commited a crime/offense against the government.
-10% have commited nine or more crimes/offenses against the government. This news article changes my view about crime slightly because it shows that middle class people believe that they are more likely to get away with crimes such as fraud or theft rather than other classes.
Knife crimes are raising each day!
There are amny knife crimes happening these days.
Young people are getting stabbed/sliced. Some make it and some dont. Knife crime happens by fighting over a £10 note. 11 knife attacks from january to march have happened. 27 teenagers have been kellied in 2007 lately. I feel very sad and depressed when i hear news like this because you never know when your walking down the street it can just happen to you. Also i feel bad for the families that have lost their loved ones.

Internet crazes that are killing our kids.
the problem in this news story is that crazes like tombstoning and car surfing are leading young kids to doing stupid things which may kill. in this news article there is nothing possitive as its all about kids being stupid and killing themselves thinkng they are smart and not going to die.
the facts in this article are that teenagers are seeing things on the internet thinking ther are cool or clever copying yet not realising they could die from it untill they die themselve...
this article makes me laugh as i cannot believe that kids a litlle bit older than me would be stupid enough to think that things like this will not kill them. and it also makes me think what would i do if one of my mates ws to do somethink like that.
i think that videos accesable by youths around my ae or younger or older should be removed from internet and people who post it should be fined or arrested for influencing someones death.
*the problems are that it is costing britain 3bn of tackling drug problems
*there have been small amount of percentages of progress
*the facts are that for the a-class drug is related with crime and his £100 bn since 1998
*it makes me feel what is the
point when they are spending too much and not that much is improving
More and more teenagers are being killed due to gang crime. gang crime is so bad in th u.k that some teenage boys cant even cross the road to get to there football training becuase a fight will break out.
-The amount of violenece has been trebeled in the past 3 years.
-there are no positive aspects to this article. only that police are trying to cut it down.
- in the past year 60 youths have been killed and 27 where from london.
-1 in 5 get shot in london.
- this makes me feel sad becuase some people cant even get to the places they want to.
-i suggest that police should start up more youth clubs to get kids off the street.

Headline - McCanns launch libel action against portuguese newspapers on the 12/9/07
- The problem is that the detectives claims that the parents of Madeleine had killed their so called "beloved" daughter.
- Anything possitive is that the chief inspector (leading the investigation) has spoke that the facts are wrong.
- They might be innocent or they might get locked up and their children put into care.
- How it makes me feel; if the facts are true, why would they want to kill Madeleine who hardly lived her life.
- My proposed sollution is that they close the whole subject and get over and done with it. they might as well use the lie detector.
